After completing my degree in Art, I achieved a Distinction on the three-year Graduate Apprentice Scheme at the Royal School of Needlework (RSN). Whilst at the RSN, I was trained to the highest level of technical excellence in hand embroidery. Today, I continue to work with the RSN to ensure these standards are maintained. After completing my apprenticeship at the RSN, I achieved a PGCE in Education, and I am qualified to teach. I teach the RSN’s Certificate and Diploma courses along with the Professional Embroidery Tutor Programme.
I have worked on some prestigious projects, working as part of the RSN team on the Princess of Wales wedding dress and the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and Queen Camilla. I regularly work for Fashion Houses and private individuals. Companies I have worked for have included Dior, Hermes and Stella McCartney.
I am passionate about teaching and have a strong ethos for retaining the heritage and skill of hand embroidery. Throughout my 18 years in the embroidery industry, I have built up a large repertoire of embroidery techniques and knowledge. I run face-to-face and online classes and deliver private tuition. I teach a wide range of embroidery techniques, and my classes are relaxed and friendly. Students are encouraged to develop embroidery skills at their own pace with my clear instructions and ongoing support.
