Embroidered Tea and Cake

Godalming Classes are booking up FAST so why not start a New Year with a new skill and meet like minded creative people?
Classes are held at Studio 22, Woodside Park, Catteshall Lane, Godalming, Surrey GU7 1LP

The Introduction to Embroidery Class on Saturday the 16th of January went really well. All students learned a lot of new skills in a relaxed setting and many have booked on the forthcoming classes. The lemon drizzle and poppy seed cake seemed to go down a storm as well! Images below of happy students working on their embroideries in a cosy warm studio.

Developing Introduction to Embroidery – Saturday the 6th of February- 10am – 4pm -Cost of £75
Developing Introduction to Embroidery class takes your stitch knowledge further and allows you to explore the vast array of stitches and wide variety of techniques on offer. You will learn stitches such as satin, padded satin, herringbone,chain, French Knots, seeding and many more. Working to a set design inspired by Clarice Cliff in a Spring Crocus theme, I will provide all the materials and equipment you need.

P1050973Monogramming your own choice of letter with Whitework Embroidery – Saturday the 12th of March – 10am – 4pm – Cost of £75
Traditionally worked with white thread on white fabric and used for bridal and christening wear and ecclesiastical embroidery.
You will learn the Fine Art of working a monogram in your own choice of initial and use a combination of Whitework hand embroidery techniques such as Pulled Thread Work, Trailing, Satin Stitch, Padded Satin Stitch, Stem Stitch, to create a beautiful monogrammed linen.

Last weekend I taught four lovely ladies smocked cupcake at the RSN. There were lots of techniques that we explored; English smocking, North American Smocking, Suffolk puffs and applique techniques. Some mouthwatering images of the weekends creations to blow the January diets are below.
